Experience & Why Us

Board and trains are a very popular dog training service used in the dog training industry.

They allow dog owners to send their problematic dogs away for two weeks or so, and then have them return behaving like an angel.

Or at least that is what most companies will sell you on.

However, in my experience that is not the case. First off, two weeks is not nearly long enough to get to know and understand the dog, let alone change a dog’s behavior.

Most other Board and Train places have anywhere from 6-30 dogs at any given time. With that many dogs and only so many hours in the day, your dog is left with 30 minutes to an hour of training and interaction a day. The rest of the time is spent in a kennel or a crate.

I know this because I used to work at these big board and train facilities.

As well as having your dog live in a stressful, and noisy environment, a lot of these places will focus only on teaching your dog obedience.

Most common problems that dog owners have are jumping, barking, counter surfing, resource guarding, digging, excessive energy, difficulty on walks, reactiveness, aggression, or fear. All of these problems… and not one of them will be solved by teaching your dog to sit, lay down, stay, or go to its place…

We literally play and train all day! Not just 30 minutes. The goal of our program is to change how the dog thinks, acts, and behaves entirely.

If you need help with any of the above-listed issues, then you need training that will solve those problems. We can provide that here!

How do we differ?

Behavior Immersion Program

Well, we differ because we can prove and back up everything we say!

When we show our work, we don’t just talk into the camera and tell you what to do like all the social media trainers out there.

So, before you read on, watch the video to the left, and see for yourself what real dog training looks like.

Now that you’ve gotten a taste of what we can do with dogs, let’s talk about our program!

Our program isn’t called a Board and Train. Instead, we call it our Behavior Immersion Program. We call it this because your dog will get immersed into our home and will live with us as they do at your house.

We literally play and train all day! Not just 30 minutes. The goal of our program is to change how the dog thinks, acts, and behaves entirely.

By living with your dog, we will be able to see all the problematic behaviors and address them in such a way that will be easy for you to replicate in your home!

Guaranteed Results

We can guarantee our results because our program has no time limit set of two or even four weeks.

When you sign up with us, we will keep and work with your dog for as long as it takes to make them a better dog.

Typically, that is anywhere from 4-6 weeks, but if your dog can benefit from more time, then we give it to them! This is something that no other place will offer you!

Our Style of Training

Focus

We focus on the needs and individuality of the dog. Yes, we will teach the dog obedience, but our program is so much more than that.

The goal of our program is to give you a dog that you can enjoy out in public, take on off leash hikes, behave when guests come over, and most importantly give them a way to have fun and communicate with you.

Real World life-long Results

We train to provide real world, life-long results, that don’t require you to hold a cookie in front of them to get them to listen.  The first thing we do is build an optimal learning environment. Most places, on day one, will get your dog out, have some treats, and start trying to teach it things.

Most dogs at this point are overwhelmed and stressed out with being in this new environment. Then, there is this strange person that they don’t know, trying to get them or force them to do things because they have a two-week time limit where they need to provide results.

Want to know the first thing we do?
Pretty much nothing!

It sounds crazy, but the first things we do is allow the dog to get comfortable.

We allow the dog to adjust and get used to its new residency, as well as build a bond and relationship with us.

Then our training will begin! If we take the time to do this early on, it will supercharge and expedite the training process.

  • Our style of training is based on building a strong relationship and understanding of each other. We show the dog how to understand boundaries and rules and create a way that we can communicate our expectations to them.
  • To do this we teach the dogs games. Games that speak naturally to their instincts and genetics.
  • Just like any sport we play as humans, games have an objective, rules, and penalties for breaking those rules. This is how we will establish our foundational communication with the dog.
  • Through these games we teach the dog boundaries and explain our expectations of them on how to act.
  • Play also doubles as an energy outlet. Almost 95% of problem behaviors in dogs can be solved by simply giving them something to do! If the dog’s needs are met, then they won’t chew on your sofa, bark non-stop, or jump on your counters for food or “toys”.

Handing back the leash

On top of your dog receiving the best education it can get, we also will spend time teaching you throughout your dog’s stay.

“Well, if I’m not there, how can you teach me too?”

Glad you asked!

As a part of our Behavior Immersion Program, we will film and send videos of your dog in training. You will get to see exactly what and how your dog is learning, as well as real-time explanations and instructions from me, the trainer.

We even go above and beyond that and spend 1-2 hours with you when you come to pick-up your dog and provide a 1 hour follow up lesson at your home! This being all included in the price of the program.
